Tough decision': Mass. high school forfeits next 2 varsity football games due to mounting injuries

Quabbin Regional High School in Massachusetts will forfeit its next two varsity football games due to mounting injuries, athletic director Mark Miville said in a statement to Boston 25 News. The Quabbin Regional High School Panthers’ roster has fallen below 20 healthy players, prompting what Miville called a “tough decision” made solely for player safety. The team was scheduled to play Tyngsboro High School in Week 7 on Friday, and Groton-Dunstable Regional High School in Week 8 on October 30, but both games will not be played as planned. The program plans to return in weeks 9 and 10 as injured players recover. Quabbin is 1-5 this season, and Millis High School also cancelled a game earlier this month for similar reasons.
