Traffic to start flowing Monday across new bridge between Canada and US | HITS 99.9FM

Traffic is expected to begin moving Monday across the new bridge over the Detroit River, designed as a key route linking Canada and the U.S. for trade, jobs and tourism. Canada marked the completion of the multibillion-dollar, multiyear Gordie Howe International Bridge last week in Windsor, Ontario. At the ceremony, U.S. and Michigan representatives were reportedly excluded after President Donald Trump announced 50% tariffs on Canadian goods entering America. Named for “Mr. Hockey,” Howe, the bridge spans 1.5 miles (2.4 km) and reaches 151 feet (46 m) at its highest point. Pedestrians and bicyclists with proper identification can cross for free in a few weeks.
