Trump's envoys Witkoff and Kushner to visit Moscow, Kyiv with proposal to end war in Ukraine

U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to travel to Moscow and Kyiv this weekend with a new proposal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, which began in 2022 with Russia’s full-scale invasion. Trump said he sent the two “great negotiators” and suggested there may be “a good chance” of progress. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is preparing for their arrival on Sunday and vowed that Ukraine will not strike Russia while they are in the country. It would be their first trip to Ukraine since Trump returned to office. The push follows months of missile and drone attacks, including a Russian strike hours before Trump’s announcement on the headquarters of Ukraine’s SBU security service in central Kyiv.
