Trump says US will not resume military strikes on Iran before midterm elections
xCruzo Brief
President Donald Trump said the U.S. will not resume military strikes on Iran before the Nov. 3 midterm elections. In a social media post Thursday, he wrote that the U.S. “will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections… on November 3rd,” adding that his team is having “productive discussions” with Iran. The statement comes as additional U.S. assets are moving toward the region, including the USS Theodore Roosevelt and thousands of troops, which officials said could arrive by late October. Trump’s announcement coincided with the USS Abraham Lincoln’s return to San Diego after a record deployment, with USS George Washington and USS George H.W. Bush also involved.
