Underground heat pipes to be laid beneath Hull city streets
xCruzo Brief
Hull City Council says work to install underground heat pipes for a low-carbon district heating network will start this week. The Hull District Heat Network project (HDHN) will move heat produced from waste at an energy centre on Trippett Street to buildings across the city. The pipework will be laid along a small stretch of Lowgate, Guildhall Road and Wilberforce Drive between 9 September and 11 October, with construction limited to 07:30–17:00 BST Monday to Friday. Traffic will be diverted via Alfred Gelder Street and George Street or via Freetown Way and other routes, while the Lowgate car park closes for up to eight weeks.
