US-Iran ceasefire? Not for Indian sailors being killed in Hormuz

The US-Iran ceasefire framework is being tested as this week’s strikes on civilian ships in the Strait of Hormuz have resulted in Indian casualties and intensified maritime tensions. US forces have attacked Palau-flagged vessels off Oman as part of a continued blockade of Iranian ports, including the Palau-flagged Marivex with 24 Indian crew members. The U.S. military later confirmed an F-18 Super Hornet fired a precision munition into Marivex’s engineering and steering spaces to disable the ship. A separate strike on the Palau-flagged Settebello killed three Indian sailors on board, while the remaining 21 crew were rescued.
