Warren Buffett omits annual donation to Bill Gates' foundation after his Epstein ties were disclosed
Warren Buffett omits annual donation to Bill Gates' foundation after his Epstein ties were disclosed, as the billionaire updated his charitable giving approach in a statement Tuesday. Buffett did not include the Gates Foundation in this year’s announcement, after disclosures involving Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Instead, he said he will donate about $6 billion to four foundations linked to his family, while aiming to donate nearly $146 billion worth of remaining Berkshire Hathaway stock by December 31, 2034. Previously, the plan relied on his three children distributing the fortune within 10 years of Buffett’s death. The statement came as Gates Foundation and Buffett did not immediately respond to questions. CNBC reported Buffett is scheduled to discuss the topic in an exclusive interview Wednesday. The article also notes Gates denies knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
