Wizards news: AJ Dybantsa equals Blake Griffin's Summer League record in an eye-popping debut as the 2026 NBA Draft’s No. 1 overall pick made an immediate impact. Dybantsa scored 27 points in his Summer League debut on Thursday, helping the Washington Wizards defeat the Utah Jazz 92-88 in Las Vegas. The total ties Blake Griffin’s 2009 mark for the most points by a No. 1 pick in a Summer League opening game. He also faced Darryn Peterson, the No. 2 pick, who finished with 24 points. Dybantsa, a BYU product, went to the free-throw line eight times and recorded seven rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block in 26 minutes. He was 0-for-5 from three. Tre Johnson added 26 and Will Riley 18 as Utah outscored Washington 51-38 in the second half.
