Town manager John McGrath says his side is improving with every match ahead of Saturday’s visit to Aldershot. On Tuesday, the Shaymen earned their second league win of the season by beating Hartlepool 1-0, moving above Hartlepool in the National League table. McGrath credited a high-energy, high-intensity performance level, while acknowledging results have not always matched chances at games including Forest Green and Boreham Wood. He added that “little mistakes” are being eradicated and that the team’s young core—True Grant (20), Tayt Trusty (22), Cody Johnson (21) and Raheem (23)—will get better. McGrath noted Town jumped ahead of Hartlepool with the win and is only looking at the table after 12 to 15 games.
