Taiwan prosecutors are seeking two years in prison for two Chinese men who landed by boat on a New Taipei beach in July and spent about a week traveling across the island before being detained. Prosecutors said the men, Luan (35) and Yu (44), arrived in Bali District after a 21-hour trip from Fuzhou in a rubber dinghy on July 23, two weeks before the annual Han Kuang military drills. They traveled to Taipei, Taichung, Hsinchu and Taoyuan, then were held by the Coast Guard Administration on July 30. Indictments were announced Thursday by the Shilin District Prosecutors Office, citing immigration and cross-strait relations violations.
