Adelaide Airport Expands Global Reach with Record Growth | Aviation Week

Adelaide Airport ended FY26 with record growth, topping 9.1 million passengers (excluding transits), up 4.8% from the prior year. The airport welcomed 13 international airlines serving 12 destinations, with a summer peak of 73 international flights per week. New and returning routes included Adelaide’s first nonstop U.S. service with United Airlines, seasonal additions to Shanghai via China Eastern and to Christchurch through Air New Zealand, and a return of Qantas to Auckland. Cathay Pacific also reinstated its Hong Kong service. Emirates selected Adelaide as an A350 launch destination with Premium Economy, while Malaysia Airlines introduced its A330neo and moved to daily operations. Trade benefits followed, with air freight exports rising 37% in volume and 11% in export value. FY27 momentum includes increased Singapore Airlines frequencies and further Cathay supplementary flights, plus domestic growth driven by Jetstar capacity and Airbus A220 service for QantasLink.
