Aerospace Buys Castings Giant CPP for $11.75B to Break Jet Engine Parts Logjam
xCruzo Brief
GE Aerospace agreed to buy Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) for $11.75 billion to relieve a bottleneck in jet-engine castings, especially precision superalloy airfoil parts. GE said superalloy airfoil demand is growing more than 30% across commercial engines, aftermarket and defense, while investment casting capacity can’t be scaled quickly. CPP, founded in 1991 and based in Cleveland, employs about 6,600 people across 20+ facilities in the U.S., Mexico, Poland, Belgium and Slovakia. The company makes turbine blades, nozzle guide vanes, airfoils and structural castings. GE will pay $7 billion in cash and fund the rest with new debt; the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027 after approvals.
