After 6.5 Years In Storage, Etihad's Last Remaining Airbus A380 Is Flying Home

After roughly 6.5 years stored, Etihad Airways’ last remaining Airbus A380 is finally flying home to Abu Dhabi. The aircraft, registration A6-APB, was grounded in 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic began, even as Etihad had already reactivated eight A380s. This A380 took longer to return and is now heading to Etihad’s main hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). According to Flightradar24, A6-APB departed Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées Airport (LDE) in southwestern France at 9:36 AM local time, earlier than its 9:00 AM scheduled departure, and is projected to arrive ahead of its 6:30 PM ETA. The airline has said the move follows demand growth and customer feedback for the A380 experience.
