Air Defense Forces shoot down 83 of 90 Russian drones
Air defense forces in Ukraine intercepted an attack using Russian drones and a ballistic missile that began the evening of June 24, shooting down 83 of 90 drones, according to Ukrinform citing Ukrainian Air Force reporting. Starting at 6:00 p.m. on June 24, Russia launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from temporarily occupied Crimea alongside 90 Shahed-type combat UAVs, including jet-powered units, plus Gerbera, Italmas and Parodiya decoys from directions that included Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske. By 8:30 a.m. on June 25, preliminary data showed 83 drones shot down or neutralized across the north, south and east. A ballistic missile and six attack UAVs struck seven locations, with debris reported at nine; the attack was ongoing, with drones still in the airspace.
