Air Peace completes fourth evacuation flight, airlifts 1,085 Nigerians
Air Peace has completed the fourth phase of a humanitarian evacuation operation from South Africa, repatriating an additional 284 Nigerians. The West Africa carrier said the latest mission used its Boeing 777-200 wide-body aircraft and was carried out in collaboration with the Federal Government, aimed at Nigerians affected by recent waves of xenophobic attacks in South Africa. In a statement, spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey reported that the flight followed a successful prior mission and brought the total repatriated to 1,085 people across four evacuation flights. The earlier dates cited were June 11 (262 Nigerians), June 30 (271), July 3 (268) and July 9 (284). The airline framed the operation as part of its readiness to deploy fleet and operational capabilities during national emergencies. The company said the effort reflects its humanitarian philosophy focused on safe transport home in times of crisis.
