Airbus to Deliver 18 A330-900 Aircraft to Scandinavian Airlines
Airbus will deliver 18 A330-900 aircraft to Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), supporting the carrier’s network expansion. The firm order was secured by Airbus SE and covers the delivery of 18 A330-900 widebodies to increase capacity on high-demand routes and enable new global services. The aircraft is powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and is rated for up to 7,350 nautical miles (13,334 km), with design flexibility for short, medium and long-haul missions. Airbus says the A330-900 offers a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions versus previous-generation aircraft. Demand for the type aligns with broader market forecasts: Airbus projects 43,420 deliveries over the next 20 years. As of May 2026, Airbus reported delivering 262 commercial aircraft to 68 customers, while the A330 Family has accumulated more than 1,950 orders from 133 customers.
