Airline With World's Youngest Airbus A380 Fleet Won't Retire Superjumbo Anytime Soon
ANA's youngest Airbus A380 fleet will not be retired anytime soon. At the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, ANA President Juichi Hirasawa said the three aircraft delivered in 2019 and 2020 remain among the youngest A380s and will continue flying for years. The jets operate primarily on the Tokyo Narita to Honolulu route, with MSN registrations 262, 263, and 266.
According to data from ch-aviation, ANA's three A380s are among the ten newest airframes, contributing to the world's youngest fleet with an average age around 7.3 years. Emirates remains the program's linchpin with over 115 A380s, while several other carriers have retired theirs. With Boeing 777X delays, ANA plans to postpone retirement and keep the A380s on its Tokyo–Honolulu service for now, with industry observers noting the global fleet could persist into the 2040s.
