Jet Linx Grounds Fleet to Challenge Private Aviation Safety Standards at 10th Annual Safety Summit
Jet Linx grounded its fleet to challenge private aviation safety standards at its 10th Annual Safety Summit. The event took place in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 10, 2026, with 500 employees gathered at the Global Safety & Operations Center. The operator highlights 200 million miles flown and 27 years of accident-free service, using a full-day halt as a proactive safety exercise, a practice it has maintained for a decade.
Barry Ellis, president of Hop-A-Jet Worldwide Jet Charter, delivered the keynote on lessons from the 2024 Naples crash and the need to go beyond manufacturer checklists. The NTSB later cited undetected engine corrosion as the cause, despite 33 flights in the 25 days before the crash. Jet Linx says the fleet grounding reinforces its safety-first culture, coordinating pilots, ground crews, and its Safety Center to strengthen practices.
