Axios House: Sustainable travel goals are a "team" sport, transportation leaders say

Sustainable travel requires coordinated action across government, suppliers and customers, Delta Air Lines and Uber leaders said at Axios House during Climate Week and the UN General Assembly. The Sept. 22 event, sponsored by Hilton, was moderated by Axios’ Alan Neuhauser with Delta sustainability chief Amelia DeLuca and Uber global mobility sustainability head Santosh Rao. Delta recently reframed its 50% net-zero target by 2050 as an “aspiration,” while staying committed to a 10% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) target by 2030. DeLuca said government support and multiyear partnerships—citing Shell—are central, and called SAF a “team effort.” Rao said charger access is a key barrier to EV adoption, and Uber launched a France pilot letting drivers find and pay for charging in the app.
