AXIS Flight Simulation Launches Modular Helicopter Simulator; No Customer Yet
xCruzo Brief
AXIS Flight Simulation, an Austria-based training simulator maker, says it has extended its patented roll-on/roll-off swappable cockpit technology to helicopter training for the first time. On August 31, the company announced two new Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) at the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Summit in Bangkok, targeting delivery of the first unit in about two years. No launch customer has signed yet. The move marks AXIS’s first deliberate push beyond fixed-wing simulators after more than two decades. The company said the devices are designed to support ICAO, EASA and FAA qualification needs, including IFR/VFR transitions, NVG operations and offshore scenarios.
