BAE Systems completes 1,000th KC-135 repair, sustaining decades-long support for U.S. Air Force readiness
BAE Systems says it has completed its 1,000th repair of the U.S. Air Force’s KC-135 Stratotanker, marking a sustainment milestone carried out at its Endicott, New York, facility. The company said the work supports the Air Force’s primary refueling fleet and keeps the aircraft operational for more than 40 years. BAE said it is the sole provider of the tanker's safety-critical Fuel Management System, maintaining components including the KC-135 Fuel Management Advisory Computer (FMAC) and the Integrated Fuel Management Panel (IFMP). It also developed a Fuel Management System upgrade with line-replaceable units designed to exceed future mean time between failures requirements, using an open architecture aligned with Air Force maintenance frameworks.
