Ban on Bombardier sales could 'massively' disrupt American aerospace

Analysts say a threatened U.S. ban on Bombardier Inc. business-jet sales could harm both the American and Canadian aerospace sectors. Trump, via social media, said “NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES!” unless the Montreal-based manufacturer moves operations stateside. Bombardier completes final assembly of its Challenger and Global jets in Canada, but more than half of its revenue comes from American customers. The company also runs plants in the U.S. and employs about 3,500 workers in Kansas, Texas, California and other states, with its defense division headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. Analysts noted that most Bombardier planes include at least 40% U.S. content and that blocking sales would disrupt American suppliers and U.S. jet operators awaiting deliveries.
