Barbara Keating died in the 9/11 attack. She's finally being laid to rest

Barbara Keating, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attack, will be laid to rest privately in Framingham, Massachusetts, as her family marks the 25th anniversary with closure after years of identification work. Keating was traveling home to California after visiting family when terrorists linked to al-Qaida crashed American Airlines Flight 11 into the North Tower. Forensic researchers identified her remains last year. Her son, Paul Keating, told NPR the family will gather to celebrate her life, noting the headstone was carved 25 years ago. Keating was 72, had five children and 12 grandchildren, and previously retired after leading a Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter near Boston. New York officials say 40% of the 2,753 victims in the city remain unrecovered or unidentified, while teams continue searches and DNA efforts.
