BBC Breakfast presenter says 'that was close' as two stars almost miss live show

BBC Breakfast presenters Jon Kay and Sally Nugent nearly missed Monday’s live show after being stuck at Geneva Airport for hours due to a flight delayed by 12 hours. Kay posted the ordeal on Instagram, describing their fear they would not make it back to Salford in time. In a clip shared at 9pm, he and Nugent were shown at the airport, then the follow-up footage returned them to the BBC studio’s red sofa with a timestamp of 5am, about eight hours later. The two later said they had little sleep, after Nugent previously revealed her alarm goes off at 3:45am.
