Boeing close to finalising major Turkish airlines order for 150 737 max jets

Boeing is close to finalising a major order with Turkish Airlines for up to 150 737 MAX jets, potentially salvaging a narrowbody deal that had been at risk of cancellation. The package would include 100 firm orders and 50 options across the 737-8 and 737-10 variants. Sources say it could be signed as early as next week during the UN General Assembly in New York, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to meet US President Donald Trump. The deal stalled over CFM International negotiations tied to who would bear long-term repair, spare-parts and maintenance risks. Turkish Airlines also wants a Premier-tier maintenance plant to access CFM’s latest technologies.
