Bomb threats disrupt flights across Europe for the second time. Here's what we know
Bomb threats disrupted flights across Europe again on Thursday, the second time in a week. At least 27 flights were affected, with some forced landings and others escorted by fighter jets, according to Reuters. Aer Lingus, Finnair, Wizz Air and Polish airline LOT said some of their routes were impacted after security checks. Officials and airlines described the incidents as hoax or false threats. Finnair reported two flights from Helsinki—one to Rome (144 passengers, 7 crew) and another to Vienna (177 passengers, six crew)—received unfounded threats but landed safely. Wizz Air said its Milan-to-Bucharest flight landed after checks cleared the aircraft, while a Warsaw-bound flight was diverted. Authorities in Rome and Vienna inspected two Finnair flights without findings.
