Brazil's Energis8 eyes annual SAF output of 1 billion liters, CEO says
Brazil’s Energis8 is targeting an annual output of around 1 billion liters of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), with CEO Marcos Guerra telling Reuters the company expects key planning to be completed by the end of 2026. The São Paulo-based firm, also known as E8R, plans to produce SAF through a tolling model in which clients provide ethanol to be converted into SAF for a fee. Energis8 says the structure should be cheaper than spot SAF prices. The project is expected to begin operating in 2031 at Paulinia in São Paulo state near major aviation hubs including Guarulhos and Viracopos Campinas. Capital expenditure is forecast at $1.3 billion, requiring 1.7 billion liters of ethanol per year. Funding is expected to be split between 40% equity and the remainder debt.
