Bryan: United Airlines opens new route between New Jersey and St. Croix

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced Thursday that United Airlines will launch nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey and Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix. The first flight is scheduled to arrive at Rohlsen Airport on Saturday, when local officials will hold a customary welcoming ceremony. The announcement underscores a new direct link for travelers between the U.S. mainland—via Newark—and the island airport, aiming to simplify travel for residents and visitors without requiring connecting flights. With the opening date set for Saturday’s arrival, the new route will begin operations immediately upon landing and formal welcome.
