Circularity Cuts Cost Of Making Sustainable Aviation Fuel From Bio-Methane

Circularity Fuels says its circular approach lowers the cost of turning dairy manure methane into sustainable aviation fuel. During a six-month California trial, biogas from a dairy manure digester on a farm with more than 5,000 cows was converted into a drop-in jet fuel meeting ASTM D7566 Annex A1. Circularity says its two-reactor, skid-mounted system is modular and costs about 20% of similar European installations. The company argues domestic SAF can become price competitive as production remains under 1% of demand and geopolitics destabilize crude markets. Tests used raw biogas with 65% methane and 35% carbon dioxide drawn directly from the digester.
