Co-Creator Sam Zvibleman to Adapt Anika Jade Levy Novel 'Flat Earth' for Vice Studios (Exclusive)
Vice Studios has tapped Pen15 co-creator Sam Zvibleman to adapt Anika Jade Levy’s debut novel Flat Earth for television, The Hollywood Reporter reported. Zvibleman and Levy will co-write the project, with Zvibleman directing the pilot. Levy said Zvibleman was her top choice, citing his work and ability to translate the novel to TV. Zvibleman previously wrote and directed most Pen15 episodes for Hulu, a comedy about middle schoolers that received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He also directed series including CBC’s The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island and NBCUniversal’s Take My Wife. The novel is described as a satirical portrait of female ambition in New York, following two best friends—Avery and Frances—as they navigate friendship, rivalry, obsession, survival, fame, and pregnancy. The report noted Vice’s concurrent work on Gangs of London and an upcoming film Bad Apples starring Saoirse Ronan, along with expanding the Gangs of London franchise.
