Condor Sees Future Alliance Membership | Aviation Week
German leisure carrier Condor says joining an airline alliance—and taking part in European consolidation—could be a logical next step, but only after it completes its transformation into a network carrier. CEO Peter Gerber, speaking at Routes World 2026 in Frankfurt, said “we will look into that,” implying timing is longer-term. Condor already has codeshare and interline partnerships with airlines including Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, JetBlue, Qantas, and WestJet, among others. Gerber also signaled Condor may ultimately need to be part of a larger group because “aviation is a size game.” The airline’s shift followed Lufthansa’s termination of a special prorate agreement. Condor is building a European city network starting March 2025 and plans to move to Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 next summer. Athens, Florence, and Stockholm are scheduled to add in summer 2027, bringing the total to 16 destinations.
