Cranky Dorkfest at LAX Unites Plane Spotters and In-N-Out Fans

Cranky Dorkfest at Los Angeles International Airport brought together aviation enthusiasts, photographers and fast-food fans on Saturday, pairing jet-spotting with In-N-Out burgers. The free event, held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a park across the street south of the In-N-Out at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd, has grown significantly since launching in 2011 as a small meet-up for aviation photographers and bloggers. Organizers expect a record year even with a 50% no-show rate. It also lines up with NYC Aviation’s SpotLAX, turning the second or third September weekend into a broader celebration of aviation.
