Military surround jet after 'accidental' landing at RAF Fairford

A Cessna Citation XL (registration D-CJMK) was surrounded by US military personnel after what authorities and witnesses described as an “accidental” landing at RAF Fairford, a key US bomber base in Europe. The jet touched down on runway 27 at about 9:30am on Saturday 12 September, using callsign VistaJet373. It had departed London City Airport and was understood to be bound for Cotswold Airport at Kemble, roughly 15 miles away. Aviation photographer Jamie Wilkins said the landing was likely unauthorized. The aircraft stayed on the apron for nearly three hours while investigational paperwork was completed, then departed around 12:15pm. The UK Ministry of Defence referred questions to the US Air Force.
