Police are investigating the death of Callum Kerr, a 35-year-old man who was restrained on a Jet2 flight to Manchester after allegedly assaulting passengers and crew. Officers were called around 2:55am on Monday, June 22, following reports that the man was behaving aggressively on the aircraft traveling from Larnaca, Cyprus. During the flight, operated by Jet2 and based at Leeds Bradford Airport, Kerr allegedly headbutted another passenger and threatened others, and a passenger and a member of cabin crew were assaulted. Officers found him unresponsive after boarding the plane on arrival, and CPR was attempted. He was taken to hospital by paramedics and died on the afternoon of June 23. Greater Manchester Police said a mandatory referral to the IOPC has been made because officers had contact with Kerr before his death.
