Delta Air Lines Flight Disrupted After Wi-Fi Triggers Unusual Alarm

A Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Las Vegas to Atlanta on Monday, Aug. 10 saw a temporary disruption after an unauthorized Wi‑Fi network was detected onboard. Delta said the crew disabled the aircraft’s internet service as a precaution while the situation was reviewed. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the airline said there was no breach of its systems, including the in-flight Wi‑Fi network, and that aircraft operational technology was not impacted. The carrier added it is conducting a full review and will work with federal law enforcement and aviation regulators. Delta reported attendants shut off Wi‑Fi for roughly 30 minutes. Air traffic control did not declare an emergency, and the flight continued safely to Atlanta. Travel expert Lee Abbamonte called the unauthorized network uncommon and urged passengers to join only the airline-identified network.
