An explosive-laden drone allegedly linked to Ukraine was found in Estonia amid the backdrop of Kiev’s long-range strikes on Russia. Estonia’s Internal Security Service bureau chief Harrys Puusepp said a person mowing the lawn stumbled on what was described as a Ukrainian UAV packed with 5 kg of explosives earlier this month. The drone reportedly crashed in a field in Rouge municipality, about 40 km from the Russian border, and was discovered by authorities on the evening of 10 June but kept private until 22 June due to a major exercise. Puusepp said parts were also found in a tree, and the danger area was secured with no risk to bystanders. The episode is described as part of a wider pattern of drones drifting into NATO airspace, and includes a prior May 19 incident where a Romanian F-16 shot down a suspected Ukrainian UAV near Lake Vortsjarv.
