FAA clears the way for airlines to put Boeing's long-delayed 737 Max 10 into service
The FAA cleared the way for Boeing to put the long-delayed 737 Max 10 into passenger service, approving the aircraft on Tuesday after nearly a decade. The decision ends years of delays and allows Boeing to sell the jet to domestic and foreign carriers. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the certification followed extensive safety reviews, including thousands of hours of test flights, and called it a win for American manufacturing. Boeing expects deliveries to start in 2027. The Max 10 typically seats 185–210 passengers, compared with 175–195 for the Max 9 and 160–180 for the Max 8, and Boeing says it will cut fuel use and carbon emissions by 20% versus the aircraft it replaces. Boeing has orders for 1,555 Max 10s from more than 30 customers.
