The FBI offers $150,000 for fugitive accused of a nearly $100 million Medicare fraud scheme, after a Houston laboratory owner allegedly fled the United States by private jet and removed her ankle monitor. Emylee Thai, 41, was added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list on June 23, following remarks by FBI Director Kash Patel at the Justice Department’s 2026 National Health Care Fraud Takedown. The FBI’s Houston field office is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to her arrest. Thai, who also uses aliases including Kelsey Tan, Thu Anh Thai and Kimberly Le-Thai, was indicted over an alleged scheme involving genetically based tests routed to her lab starting in 2019, with marketers receiving a percentage of Medicare reimbursements. Authorities say Medicare billed about $142 million for genetic testing and payments totaled about $95 million, with the FBI estimating the fraud at nearly $100 million and the Justice Department putting it at $90 million. Investigators believe she is hiding in Vietnam, after leaving via a private charter flight using a fake passport.
