Full lists of all the UK airports affected as delays hit UK flights
Thousands of passengers faced delays and some groundings as flights across the UK were disrupted by a technical issue affecting air traffic control services. Nats, the UK air traffic provider, confirmed the problem and said it was investigating a technical issue causing disruption to departures. The affected airports listed included London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast City, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Southampton, East Midlands, Jersey, and others. Flight monitoring site Flightradar24 reported around 200 cancellations by Tuesday afternoon, with that number expected to rise. Heathrow said only departing flights were impacted, while arriving flights were not currently affected, and advised passengers to check with their airlines as it apologized for the disruption. The report said a fix was now in place.
