Gators Add 5-Star Specialist to 2027 Recruiting Class

The Florida Gators added another special teams prospect to the 2027 recruiting class by landing kicker/punter Aaron McWilliams, a commitment reported after an offer weekend. McWilliams, from Sharpsburg, Georgia (East Coweta), is listed at 6-0 and 184 pounds and rated as the No. 8 kicker and No. 8 punter in the country by Kohl’s Professional Camps. 247 Sports’ Tyler Harden reported that special teams coach Johnathan Galante had targeted him for a while before he received the offer on Saturday, following a standout performance at the Gators’ “Friday Night Lights” camp the night before. McWilliams said the plan likely involves serving as backup for both punting and kicking during his freshman year, with competition for the starter roles. With the pledge, Florida has 24 commitments and a second specialist, behind long snapper Jaydee Lane.
