Group and JAL Launch Intra-Asia/North America-Asia Transport Partnership
Nippon Express Holdings (NX Group) and Japan Airlines (JAL) have launched an intra-Asia and North America–Asia transport partnership, using a JAL Boeing 747 freighter (747F). The service runs a weekly, round-trip circuit starting in Los Angeles and routing via Narita, Taipei (Taoyuan), Singapore, and then Narita again before returning to Los Angeles. The first flight departed Los Angeles on October 3, 2026. The companies say the plan targets strong demand for AI- and semiconductor-related cargo, especially between Tokyo, Taipei, and Singapore, where large-freighter capacity is limited. They also point to the 747F’s capacity of about 100 tons, enabling shipment of oversized and heavy freight such as server racks and data-center equipment. Both firms plan further network expansion.
