Harbour Air to acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines, forming regional B.C. group

Harbour Air will acquire Pacific Coastal Airlines, bringing two British Columbia regional carriers under common ownership while keeping both brands operating separately. The companies announced the merger Tuesday and said it will create a regional airline group with a fleet of 59 aircraft serving 25 communities across the province. The transaction price and timeline have not been disclosed and remain subject to regulatory approvals. Harbour Air said the deal is private and the parties agreed not to share financial details. Harbour expects a combined workforce of more than 900 employees and said both brands will continue existing routes, with a combined 300 daily flights. The merged group will look for expansion opportunities, and Harbour is also developing an electric version of its Beaver.
