The airport manager, Bryan Avery, told The Nugget that higher fuel costs have affected airlines broadly, forcing schedule adjustments, alongside seasonally lower passenger volumes. He said Propair had been providing businesses with direct access to downtown Toronto, but demand did not justify continuing the route. According to the airline’s website, the last flight available is scheduled for July 31, and only four flights to Toronto remain this month—July 24, 26, 30 and 31. For Rouyn-Noranda, five flights are listed on July 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31. The suspension takes effect as of August 1.
