Horror on major airline flight as 'shaken' passengers scream 'we will die'
A Turkish Airlines flight traveling from Istanbul to Tunis was diverted after severe turbulence during a violent storm as passengers reported multiple failed descent attempts and panic on board. Footage shared on social media showed travelers screaming as the aircraft appeared to nose-dive while approaching Tunis-Carthage International Airport. Passengers described the plane shuddering violently, leading pilots to abandon landing efforts twice before a third attempt. During that third go, several passengers said the aircraft suddenly began falling, sparking widespread fear, with one person saying it felt like “free falling” for a few seconds. The flight was eventually diverted about 60 miles south of Tunis to Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport, where it landed without incident. No injuries were reported, and passengers later praised the pilots’ handling of the emergency.
