Private jet carrying singer and seven others crash-lands and bursts into flames

A private jet carrying singer Rey Vaqueiro—real name David Linhares Pereira de Sousa—and seven other people burst into flames after running off the runway during an early-hours crash-landing in Parelhas, Brazil. The aircraft belonged to a mining company’s airfield. Vaqueiro, his team and crew members were taken to a local hospital for medical checks and officials said nobody was injured, though the Cessna 550 Bravo was destroyed. Both engines caught fire, and firefighters spent about five hours tackling the blaze, cooling the engines and letting remaining fuel burn off. The singer had been scheduled to perform at 2:30am, canceling shows in Custódia and Canhotinho afterward.
