India's SAF readiness stands at 52%, Boeing-RSB report finds

A Boeing and Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) report assessing India’s readiness for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) sets the country’s overall readiness at 52%, describing it as moderate but improving. The assessment, developed by RSB, reviews nine areas including feedstock, production capacity, policy and regulation, supply chains, market demand, investment, R&D, technology readiness, and enabling infrastructure. India has SAF blending targets of 1% by 2027, 2% by 2028, and 5% by 2030, and plans to participate in CORSIA from 2027. Under a 5% blending scenario in 2030, SAF demand for domestic and international aviation is projected at about 720 million litres.
