The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group (ISSG) says its chief executive Stuart Reid will step down early next year to take a new transport-sector role. His last day will be 16 February 2027 after seven years in the role. ISSG said Reid will keep working on company priorities while a successor is recruited. The announcement comes amid recent criticism involving Skybus, including cancellations of flights to and from the Isles of Scilly during the summer. Officials also questioned a deal Skybus struck with Aurigny, a Guernsey-based airline, to supply aircraft for Alderney flights from Guernsey and Southampton. Separately, Storm Goretti damaged aircraft and hangars at Land’s End Airport, contributing to delays in maintenance and prompting Skybus to cut Newquay–London services two months early. A new Isles of Scilly passenger ferry is due to enter service in March 2027.
