Jets finally snap NFL record interception-less streak thanks to Minkah Fitzpatrick pick
The Jets finally ended an interception drought on Sunday, snapping one of the NFL’s most notorious stretches at Soldier Field. New York entered the game against the Bears having failed to record a pick for a record-long run dating back to Aaron Glenn. Minkah Fitzpatrick supplied the breakthrough when he caught Tyson Bagent’s errant throw late in the first half, then returned it deep into Chicago territory. The interception marked the team’s first takeaway via interception since Ashtyn Davis picked off Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley on Jan. 5, 2025. Earlier in the first quarter, T’Vondre Sweat grabbed a pass intended for Colton Loveland, but that would-be interception was overturned by a penalty. The Jets’ prior drought totaled 637 days and 636 pass attempts.
