Jets hold 7-6 lead over Browns at halftime
In rainy conditions at MetLife Stadium, the Jets took an early lead but struggled to sustain offensive drives, with both teams limited to one touchdown each in the first 30 minutes. New York opened with an 80-yard touchdown drive, then managed only two field goals from Cleveland’s side to keep the score tight at 7-6 at halftime. Jets quarterback Geno Smith connected with wide receiver Garrett Wilson three times for 70 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive, but Wilson’s end-zone catch was the only one since. Smith had just 25 passing yards on five other completions and was sacked three times, including twice by Maliek Collins. The Jets defense held Cleveland to 99 yards on 33 plays. Wide receiver K.C. Concepcion left in the first quarter with a head injury and did not return.
