Jets lose 1st-round pick to IR, will be out at least 4 weeks
xCruzo Brief
The New York Jets have placed rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. on injured reserve with an ankle injury, sidelining their 2026 first-round pick for at least four games. Cooper made an immediate impact in his NFL debut on Sept. 13, 2026, catching his only target for a 30-yard gain in New York’s 23-10 win over the Tennessee Titans, but he suffered the injury on that play and later appeared on just five offensive snaps. After a week described as week-to-week, he didn’t practice during Week 2 and was listed out against Green Bay before the IR move. Cooper is eligible to return in Week 6 versus New England.
